Westlake Global Service Month
The Westlake Global Service Month began three years ago, as part of the 30th Anniversary celebration year. While Westlake has always recognized the importance of supporting the communities in which we work and live, this event was the first that crossed international lines so that we collectively helped our communities in five countries in a single month.
In 2016, during the first Westlake Global Service month, Westlake had approximately 900 volunteers. This year, we had approximately 2,500 employees and family members participate. In addition, to more volunteers, the average service project now lasts longer, up from 2 to 4 hours.

For the past 22 years, Westlake Chemical has awarded an annual scholarship to college-bound students of employees. This annual award of scholarships continues Westlake's on-going support of the higher education endeavors for high school students of company employees. Scholarships are generally renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study provided the student maintains specific high academic standards.
In 2018, we notified 116 students that they were recipients of this scholarship. To read more about this recent announcement, click HERE.

In Kentucky, Westlake ranks among the top company contributors to the Calvert City United Fund Program, the Marshall County Relay for Life, and the McCracken County March of Dimes Walk America. Westlake also makes donations to the Four Rivers Performing Arts Center in Paducah, Kentucky.
Our corporate commitment is augmented by the dedication and generosity of our employees. They regularly teach Junior Achievement at inner-city schools, they have adopted two schools in need, they provided mentoring to at-risk elementary school children, and they have volunteered their time as Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
Westlake and its employees have a proud history of supporting the communities that surround its various facilities. In the Houston area our activities include support of the Houston Grand Opera, the United Way, Junior Achievement, the Health Museum, Asia Society, Madre a Madre, the Houston Food Bank, Memorial Park Conservancy, American Red Cross and various other fundraisers.
